Whether or not beauty is accepting the imperfections of others and allowing that to become societies new "perfection" or if beauty is what society has built up to be beautiful. The ugly selfie really brings that into question. The ugly selfie is when people distort facial expressions and facial features to create grotesque images of their self which they share on mediums like snapchat. These ugly selfies at times could be interpreted as a mock of the selfie. In a way poking fun at the idea, but in another sense it could be society moving away from the ideal perfection. . The ugly selfie gives a break from that "perfection" phase, and shares a bit of authenticity. The selfie is a multifaceted technological advancement of our time, and has many positives and negatives. It is up to us to determine if it has a positive or negative impact on the lives of this new generation that is growing up with the selfie!
